THE PROBLEM AND OUR SOLUTION
Why conventional ponchos
aren't good enough.
The plastics industry runs on oil, emits at scale, and packages products in more plastic. We built our entire supply chain around fixing all three.
The Plastics Problem
Our Solution
Significant oil consumption
Plastics use 8% of the world's oil — historically more than the entire aviation industry. It's a finite resource powering a throwaway product.
Greenhouse gas emissions
~1.9 kg CO₂eq is emitted per kg of conventional plastic (LDPE) produced. Plastics are projected to outpace the coal industry's emissions by 2030.
Single-use packaging
40% of all plastic produced is single-use. That plastic ends up in oceans and landfills at a rate the recycling system can't absorb.
Sugarcane as feedstock
Our ponchos are made from >99% sugarcane ethanol — a renewable resource. Bagasse (the plant waste) also helps power the raw material factory.
Optimized supply chains
Our raw material captures 3.09 kg CO₂eq per kg produced. We actively optimize shipping routes to further reduce our greenhouse gas footprint.
Sustainable packaging
FSC-certified 100% recycled kraft material — recyclable and biodegradable. No plastic sleeve. No petroleum ink.
